Really?
Sorry, but how is the Pak-fa a breakthrough military weapon? Have you not heard of the F-22? Do you not see the resemblance? Maybe it's a breakthrough according to russians, but not on a global scale. There is no denying the fact that the F-22 is stealthier (front canards, etc) has WAY more advanced technology, and many more aspects.

Question.
Does anyone know if they have ever fired a railgun at a target more than a few feet away from it?

I keep seeing estimated accuracies of 5 meters based on X of drift at a range of less than 1 meter.

I am suspect of anyone discussing long range weapons that says the maximum range of a convetional cannon is 50 miles. The Paris gun of WW II had a range in excess of 75 miles.

smartplanet......really
what's with all these weapons? I can;t get so excited about war anymore. It's not just the loss of life and economic disaster that results - but the military is our biggest polluter. Recently you had an article about a "new" concept called eroi - energy roi. Which was both not new and ridiculous.
You people are begining to sound like dumb planet.
It does appear you are owned by IBM, the Third Reich's favorite data base company.
But come on, stick to smart planet stuff.
