HSR will continue fail in the US until people learn.
Face it, Acela is a flop. At its best it is only 20 minutes faster on the Boston to NY City run that the diesel electric Northeast Regional. It is still over an hour slower than the 1930s vintage steam train that ran the Boston to NY City route into the 1950s.
I wish some one in the HSR fan club could tell me how a steam engine was faster than a billion dollar train.
I already know why, but until the fan club members understand why they will never understand the reasons HSR in the US as envisioned by the Obama administration and others is a joke.
12 stops in just 200 miles in California for their proposed HSR is laughable in its stupidity.
