Robot that moves like a roach, could find earthquake survivors

I find that interesting since we have in nature plenty of birds who who can do essentially what this robot does, but they are structurally similar to birds of flight. To me that would suggest more of a flap till you fly model. Of course speculating on what we'll never know is a waste of time anyways. How about focus on making the robot fly. Maybe like that darpa humming bird.
