The Earth is not billions and billions of years old there is no absolute proof of that anymore than there is that it is only around 10000 years old. Just as there is no absolute proof of evolution, because when you take away your billions and billions then there can be no evolution.
As for the new global warming (now climate change--which could cover cooling as well), I believe in an almight God who will not let his creation be destroyed by the likes of us, He will cause a volcano to erupt or some other thing to happen to cool the planet if necessary or He will just say "times up!" and call us to our reward or punishment as we have asked for. With what is happening in the Middle East it might not be that far into the future. In which case we won't have to worry about it.
The fact that there are billions more people than there were just a century ago has to have some effect on the climate as well. the researcher didn't mention that item.
