Networked Grid 2011: The advantages to a smart grid

Well get ready to bend over and get it. Big brother(1984) is now ready to do to you whatever it wants to do. And you all thought it was just a fictional book. Of course Brazil is in there too. The smart grid is a ripoff and nothing but a scheme to take over more of your life. We don't need it and can do better without it. Other tech is starting to show us a better way and we don't need a "stupid grid" to be in our lives. Sometimes its better to not do something and this is an example that is glaringly obvious about what not to do. The peeps who've tried it are now wishing to get rid of it. Makes you think real quick that they are on to something.

If you are into Alternative and Renewable Energy (ARE), I think Smart Grid is very useful in terms of Net Metering, Demand Response and your need to sell excess power to the grid, as far as I know. It's a system that has to be adapted for the convenience of ARE production and use.

How many lines of code will it take to shut down the entire power supply of America ? Ask the Chinese or the russians. Look out when when the muslims get hold of that code. Now exactly how smart is it to jeopardize the entire electricty delivery system in this country ? Just so some idiot decides I run my air conditioner too long in the summer is not the answer. The whole idea stinks. Politicians have set their sights on passing the enormous cost onto us, then taxing the whole thing. Hope you have a lot of money stashed to pay your "fair" share. Think it through before you jump on the bandwagon.
