This headline is completely misleading - the studies do nothing to connect "human activity" with the rise in temperature and thus extreme weather events. The models only look at the effect of "warming temperatures" on extreme weather events. I would think that if they start factoring in "cooling temperatures" such as we are having now, the models would look quite different.
