RE: Washington, DC beltway counties have highest ratios of college-educated residents
It's a good thing too - imagine the shape our government would be in without all those geniuses.

Taking care of there own.
Did anyone else notice that most of these counties have the lowest unemployment rates in the country? Some are below 5 percent.

Is it also a coincidence that not only did these counties miss the recession, but many of the residents in these counties got double digit pay raises from the uncle they work for?

Get educated, become ultra liberal, steal money from taxpayer and
blame George Bush for everything. Great way to use that
education. I bet most are lawyers.

partman1969...you're way off the mark. how much money did george bush steal/waste pursuing that moronic war in iraq? how much went into the pockets of ultra conservative defense contractors? those people live in the DC are also. they are also well educated. they don't care about you, they care about themselves. they don't care about you because your lack of education prevents you from seeing how easily you're used to further their ends.

@WhatsamattaU
You make assumptions that I believe in the current GOPs
philosophies to make rebuttals such as yours, however I
disagreed with most all of Bush's policies. I do however see that
with the current administrations results, they certainly would
rather place blame elsewhere. As for your regards to my
education which you know nothing of I have done very well for
myself, educated in nuclear electronics in the U.S. Navy. As for
your education, only speak well of the liberals when and if they
improve the current employment trends. Good day !

Interesting which states are in the list
Makes one wonder where any Texas county is. Maybe higher
education in Texas is really all about sports and that's where our
tax dollars go.

When making a statement like that please keep in mind that 40 percent of all the money spent in WAR FUNDING bills had nothing to do with the war. It was all earmarks allowed to keep people happy with the war.

A small example is the $200 million that went to build the Murtha airport in PA. A major boondoggle built in the middle of nowhere that in 2009 saw less than 400 passengers the entire year, yet is designed to handle thousands a day.

If Democrats like Murtha were really opposed to the war, as he often displayed by calling our troops baby killers, they would have done more to end the war. But then again that would have shutoff their cash flow.
