Mixed signals are SOP for Obama Administration minions.
They are encouraging greener cities, but my home town was recently denied funding for tree planting to shade public areas and reduce the urban heat sink effect. HUD was ok with the planting, but the EPA shot it down over concerns the leaves will plug storm drains and street runoff would pollute local streams.
So I guess trees, that absorb CO2, give off oxygen and lower city temperatures, are being banned in areas with storm drains.
That display of intelligent thinking is typical of the federal government bureaucracy for last 2 years.
It is right up there with EPA concerns that building sand barriers to protect marshes will harm fish that are being killed by oil getting into the Gulf marshes. So the barriers did not get built and the oil has invaded over 1000 acres of marshes.
How are the fish doing now?
