RE: Thinking inside other people's boxes: innovation in the digital economy
Thinking Outside the Box can be a frustrating, wasteful experience for many people and the organizations they lead. Thinking in other peoples' boxes makes plenty of sense. Using those ideas to come back and think inside your box makes even more sense.
Most companies can realize a better return on their resources by making sure they:
-- Secure all possible busienss from their present clients;
-- Align all company resources toward serving targeted markets; and
-- Defining and turbocharging the organization's value-producing engine.
Until these three things are completed, thinking outside the box will only distract the organization and not produce the returns that thinking in the box can create!
