Pokeberry dye fades fast in sunlight, and was seldom used as fabric dye or ink for this reason. How will this obstacle be handled?
Poke root was used in WWII Britain to treat cancer, and it apparently does have some effect on cell growth and division, and a wine made from the berries is a folk treatment for arthritis. If this Southern weed turns out to be a viable cash crop to replace tobacco, it would be a blessing for small farmers.
