Munich-RE sponsored the first meeting of Desertec (http://www.desertec.org) in Munich last Monday, 13 July. A number of heavyweight industrial giants support the project and have signed the MoU. The essence is that LARGE quantities of (primarily) solar energy will be generated in the Sahara to supply North Africa and Europe.
This principle could be applied anywhere in the world where desert or semi-desert conditions prevail; so almost anywhere.
The interesting bit is who is supporting the initiative, and especially who is hosting/sponsoring. Munich-RE are doing this for purely commercial reasons: they have recognised that their existing business model is not sustainable in the long term if the effects of climate change are taken into account. Of course, the other particiapnts also see a business opportunity for their various offerings.
I believe the message is at last reaching the right ears and minds!!

RE: Best Companies
We have been living in Montana for the past 5 years and I am not supri sexshop to find it #3 on the "worst" list. Considering a sexy shopmove to Idaho to escapthe high cost of living a low income in MT. There may not be a sales tax here but they get you if you own property!
