Most government officials don't think about the repercussions of legislation or taxation or regulations, but for certain, there is a repercussion to anything that affects us.  Government keeps hoping that the people will learn to accept what they impose on us, but, eventually, the negatives overtake whatever  positives those officials might have seen with their power-grab.]]></description>

        <description><![CDATA[They are already looking at a replacement for the gasoline sin tax.The unintended consequence of maintaining a bad economy with poor leadership, cash for clunkers and pushing the CAF standard higher has been a noticeable drop in revenue from the gas tax.The revenue slid is expected to accelerate over the next 20 years and the spend happy mob in DC is in full panic that they have killed a cash cow.]]></description>

        <description><![CDATA[...the stated purpose of the cigarette tax is to force smokers to pay for their increased medical costs.  Fewer smokers bring in fewer dollars but cost fewer dollars.  So it SHOULD be a wash.  But you're right, politicians will use it as an excuse to raise taxes.]]></description>
