Of all the supposed real problems there are to deal with, we're borrowing money to fund this? Clearly, government is way overfunded if this is the best way they can find to spend scarce resources.

Go ahead and celebrate Obama's victory while you still can, because, once the country goes back to business, it's going to realize that, they've made another huge mistake, just like the one they made 4 years ago with Obama.

In reality, the people who voted for Obama are the ones who could least afford the last four years of Obama, and they will be hurt even more in the next four years. That means, the poor and middle class and students and women and minorities. Those people do understand that, it's big government that brings them their "free stuff". But, when the country is increasingly unable to pay for the free stuff, those people won't be getting their free stuff. "Free stuff" has to be paid by the productive members of society, via personal and business taxes, and those productive members are becoming fewer, and the businesses are becoming fewer, and the tax-paying class is becoming smaller. With fewer people and companies paying taxes, the funding for the "free stuff" won't be there, and those freeloaders will soon find out, just like the people in Europe (especially in Greece and Spain), how idiotic their choice for president was.

Poor people pay NO TAXES. And, in fact, they take away from the collected taxes, and are therefore, "negative" tax payers, which means, instead of paying taxes, they take from the productive people in society.

I don't know about you specifically, but, most of the working poor don't pay taxes, and most of the poor are "negative tax" payers, which, again, means that, they just collect government services and government stuff, without contributing to the system. Actually, no republican president would want to claim the kind of accomplishments that Obama has in the last 4 years. Obama took an economy in decline, and made it even worse. Obama took an economy with unemployment being high, and made unemployment even higher. Right now, we have more than 23 million unemployed, and those are people who do want to work. Then, there is a national debt, which was at 10 trillion when Obama took office, and he has turned it into a 16+ trillion national debt. He is the first president to have annual budgets deficits of over 1 trillion dollars for each of his 4 years. He is the first president to waste a trillion dollar "stimulus" with nothing to show for it. He is the first president who took our car companies and made them property of the unions, while giving them over 50 billion dollars in bailouts, with GM still owing the American people over $25 billion. He is a president who turned 17 million people into food stamps dependents. He has added between 5 and 10 million people to the poverty ranks. He has added so many regulations to businesses, that many of them have had to ship operation to other countries, thereby becoming the "outsourcer-in-chief". He has presided over more companies going out of business, than at any time in history, which means, more people getting laid off. He is the first president where, about 50% of college graduates can't find a job after they graduate. He is the first president who has extended the unemployment collection period from six months, to 24 months, which makes it very unlikely that, when those people go back to look for work, they'll be unable to do so because, they've lost whatever skills they used to have. He is the president who presided over our Ambassador and three others getting murdered by terrorists ni Libya, and then, passing the blame to others. He is the first president who, for 4 years, continued to blame Bush for all of his ineptness, while the country was getting into deeper holes. He is the first president who was trained by communists, and the first president to hold office with no experience whatsoever in running anything in his life. He is the first president who can't say anything to anybody, without having his teleprompter telling him what to say. He is the biggest idiot to ever hold any kind of public office. But, go ahead and be proud to support that kind of idiocy.

And, during Bush we had one of the greatest economic boom periods in the history of the U.S. The only thing that brought down the economy, was the housing collapse, which was caused by the democrats when they had the power in Washington. The housing mess was caused by the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act), which was passed by congress and signed by Carter. Then, Clinton, back in the mid-90s, forced the banking and lending institutions to grant sub-prime loans to the poor and other people who were completely unqualified to own those homes. The collapse was predicted back in the 90s, and Bush tried to head it off, but the democrats blocked him from issuing regulations that would install controls against Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Those institutions and the CRA regulations, were the direct and indirect causes for the housing crash, and all of that occurred before Bush had even thought about running for president. Again, try to get informed, because, you sound too ignorant to know or understand what the heck is really happeing all around you.

The CRA caused the housing collapse? Bwaaaa-ha-ha-ha!!!!! Countrywide and many other lenders were not even subject to the CRA. Loans under the CRA had a lower default rate than those that weren't under the CRA. An excess of capital looking for a place to be invested lead to a bubble in the housing market that couldn't be sustained.

When pondering the question of mining super taxes and the structure of our tax system in general, please refer to this explanation using the language of Beer !!

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this :

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1
The sixth would pay $3
The seventh would pay $7
The eighth would pay $12
The ninth would pay $18
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve ball.

"Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20". Drinks for the ten men would now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes.

So the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.
But what about the other six men - the paying customers?

How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share?

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33.

But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free.

It seems like we keep on finding a species thought to be extinct every year, why not Sasquatch. It may be far fetched but worth some effort to put it to rest as to whether it exists or not. I like the idea of something fairly quiet with an infra red camera on board that could zero in on such a creature at night when a distinction could be made more easily between a warm body and the surroundings. Still, it won't be an easy task. There are lots of critters out there at night that have a heat signature, deer, moose, cougars, bears, etc, and most of them forage at night. I say - good luck.

The remote control blimp seeking Big Foot could do more than search for a legend. It can also be used to study animals we know about but lack information about how they interact through out the year.

Charles Forte wrote a book called "The Book of the Damned" where he catalogs weird incidences like stones falling from the skies. The scientific concensus at the time was that these events were folklore and not real. The current consensus is that these kinds of event did happen and still happen in the form of meteor showers. Good science is sceptical about vague reports until events can be studied and facts gathered. The point is that there is a balance between scepticism and being open to different ideas to make good science.

Can't man just be amused by the possibility that BF may exist? Don't we ever learn NOT to go into the dark jungle or haunted house or deep black lake?
