My concerns about the High Line are 2 fold.
First, I fear NYC has cut off their nose when it comes to future expansion of mass transit in this area.

Second, has anyone really looked into what the long term maintenance costs are going to be for this project?

It is nice to say look how pretty those trees are growing on the elevated tracks, but very soon those roots, leaching water and a host of other normal environmental factors will start to damage that structure. Like so many parks before it, are we looking at something that will have to be torn down in 20 years because of neglect?
