They are still sorting facts from rumors in the case of Bengazi attack. We really won't know what all happened for months. While the deaths in Bengazi are serious the invasion of the US embassy in Cairo is also a serious breach like the one in 1979 in Iran.
It used to be that US campaign politics stayed within the US borders. Both parties would have presented a united front in support of the country and waited until the crisis abated before publicly criticizing the administration. To publicly criticize the president regarding an international crisis weakens the stature of the US in other countries.
