Its one thing that you mentioned "anyone can create a parody video, meme, or send a disparaging comment across global platforms in a second" but in reality, there are rules, laws, governance, morale and ethics that supersedes these kind of hypothetical observations.
I do understand that people are collaborating, voicing their opinion and publishing what they wish and when they wish but, in reality there has to be sense of self-control to not harm of anyone.
The need of hour is every brand should have an effective tracking system complimented by communication strategy to defend and participate whenever any such event takes place.
