Security Theater
Security Theater is the best description of TSA, the appearance of security instead of actual security. A couple dozen TSA employees were fired last week for not catching weapons in luggage. Then there are the outrageous actions of a few TSA agents who make the search process as demeaning as possible, usually on those who are the most vulnerable. There are also the incidents where a TSA agent steals electronic devices before the passenger can reclaim them.
TSA agents need to be paid better to get people who are meticulous in doing their work while respecting our rights to privacy. TSA also needs to be held accountable for the abusive actions of a few of the agents.
