Or not, as they really didn't succeed in raising their populations. One shudders to think what a couple of hundred-million people living productive lives instead of being intentionally slaughtered might have achieved. IMHO, the citizens of communism really didn't get very much in exchange for their sacrifice, both the living and the murdered.
