And while I agree w/ you to some extent that "a lot of folks think 'any job' would be a good job," however considering the increasing cost-of-living expenses, a "good job" means the difference between keeping your home, paying for monthly transportation costs (in the NYC area means a LOT), or food for an entire family on a consistent basis, etc. So I think it's important to point out that those 'good jobs' means ALL the difference in the world to many people. In fact it's that kind of 'you should be happy to have a job' mentality by many corporations that has helped stagnate, even decrease wages and salaries for many Americans, while helping to increase poverty stats.
