Gee...I guess someone's figured out if you put a tourniquet around your own neck with the "green" regs that go too far and are far to impractical...

When push comes to shove - -
people find out that regs can go to Hades. They will do whatever they must to preserve and maintain their lives, even if that means pollution of the atmosphere.

UK will go the direction of Germany.
For all the green energy praise heaped on Germany it is surprising how they have flown under the radar while building about a dozen new coal power plants to take over base power duty as their nuclear plants are phased out.
The environmental damage of this decision is astounding. Some of the largest strip mining equipment on the planet is used to feed the power plants now being put online.

Britain will find out as California did, that once the blackouts start, all regulations are optional.
We really have only two options for base load power, Coal and Nuclear. All other sources, Gas, Oil, wind, solar, tidal are just fillers.
If you want clean air, then the bulk of your power will be Nuclear. If you are frightened of Nuclear, then you had better get used to dirty air, asthma and Global Warming.
Sorry, those are the only options.
