Will there be a shortage of architects?

THIS WILL HAPPEN WITH OTHER CONSTRUCTION RELATED SKILLS, THERE WILL BE A LACK OF GOOD TRAINED WORKERS IN MANY IMPORTANT AREAS FOR THE SAME REASONS

If they lost 28% of the staff during the recession, what makes anyone think these people will not rejoin the workforce once they "can" get hired back... Sure, some of them may be flipping burgers now, but when an architecture firm send them a job offer, they are back to business as usual. If a demand for architects arises, the need will be filled. Currently, architects are not well paid nor appreciated... A temporary shortage of architects is just the thing the profession needs.

Because a lot of small/medium firms went completely under and there may not be enough "senior" people with firms to do the hiring.

Todays Architects are small minded, don't see the function of life. Bound to small minded lots. If you need a good architect he must see de whole picture of life in the landscape. Today buildings have not enough feeling, are hard and sharp edged. I try a different approach. The land and it's inhabitants, buildings can be build for a future far beyond human life expectancy but they can be build to keep families happy for generations. Price tag people? Tell me the reason why to build your and my ideas, if we walk in different directions. Make us a city build to stand for 100,000 years to come....food included in the same area! We can then also demolish (with care and recycling) some cities for the bushes and wild animals.... Work for every worker......

Sound great except at least in the USA no one is paying for anything like this, hoarding of wealth buy the mega rich and the crushed middle class whom exactly is going to pay for it? The old days are gone, I don't think in my lifetime I will see anything but mediocracy all around so I for one have stop caring what happens its just part of a countries ups and downs.
