The only thing that can cure basilisk venom is the tears of a phoenix.. LOL

On a more serious note... Viral and bacterial pinkeye (also called conjunctivitis) are contagious and spread very easily. Tears don't have any effect on them. But it's worth a shot to see if they can knock out certain super bugs.
