A Step In the Right Direction
Anything that will eliminate vivisection, for research on human health, is a positive influence on society, in my view. Veterinary surgery is a legitimate tool for the health and well-being of our non-human brethren. So it is nice to see a collaboration between the human doctors and vets for the mutual benefit of all animals, minus the specious animal research.

..but what's the connection?
Where does it say the use of lab animals will be cut down? If the practice is indeed proving unhelpful, there's some hope that researchers will give up vivisection, but is this view spreading, or is Dr Ohifest a lone voice? And, meanwhile, if human and animal doctors are collaborating, might that not make it more likely that animals will be used for testing?

Exactly!
Yes that is what I am hoping. More testing on the human animal and less testing on the non-humans.
