Not quite yet
"Already, such suits are helping the military" is an exaggeration at best. It implies they're already in use. They're still experiments, not even prototypes. The power supplies don't exist yet that will give them enough endurance to be useful.

rain
i'm not here to rain on anyone's parade and i'm a big fan of technology, in particular when it helps us get the full benefit of life.
now comes he uh huh part and the irony of living in a high tech culture wherein some otherwise able bodied but too lazy to walk individuals will be ducking into the sporting goods emporium for a wearable robot.
and i say this why? a few years ago there was an article about people approaching 50 y o, otherwise able bodied, who couldn't wait to get into a hoverchair to quit walking.
since this is America no one can stop them nor should be allowed to stop them since this is America.

@Sunon: I think someone that's paralyzed, isn't
faking an injury. Did you even read the article, or just want to insult? And I know I'm behind the times, but I've yet to see a hoverchair.

I've seen some people in electric chairs with baskets, at supermarkets, but have yet to see people getting around in a chair that floats above the ground....
