Population growth is fundamentally out of control.

No amount of food tech, energy tech will be able to supply it's requirements and there will be wars over energy, food, water and mineral resources.

The UN need to take a global lead in arresting the growth, and ultimately starting to drive it down once it has ;leveled off.
