Sometimes it comes down to basic arithmatic, grammer, spelling, penmanship, writing instuctions for others to follow and visa versa, an understanding of how businesses function and how one's job affects those functions. Mistakes in any of these areas are what affects, negatively, profits plus can affect sales when they negatively affect the firm's customers' businesses.
