Right now Scotland has wind farms that have to shut down when they reach peak power production because the grid cannot handle the load. And the taxpayers are paying them for the power they never produced.

Why build more production capacity when they cannot handle what they have now?

Because it is another way for the government to make the rich who fund their campaigns richer on the backs of the poor consumers.
