Nobody got bought.
It's transparently political. With gasoline again hitting $4/gallon, the "no more carbon" President doesn't want to go into debates against Romney saying he's stood in the way of drilling while at the same time assuring is environmental wing that he can always put the brakes back on this after November when he's have "more flexibility".

...that the assertion that someone is "greasing" or that someone "got bought"? At least I made an argument. You didn't.

Huh?
How has Obama stood in the way of drilling? I think domestic production is higher now than since the end of the 1990's. His energy strategy appears to be "all of the above". A President has little control over the price of petroleum.

Drilling in the Artic - It is totally not necessary and damages too much.
We must seriously get very active NOW. For those on the net, go to Credo.com and sign what petitions they have and make your own. We all have to make a very loud roar against this insanity.
I have lived off the grid for over a quarter of a century and I use and know that there is abundant p.v. and wind energy in use now, almost everywhere. Google it and learn amazing things. This is the last chance for the oil industry to exploit. This is not at all necessary. We must be as active as we are able to be NOW.

Shell has already spent over $5 billion to get the permits and approvals necessary to explore for oil and gas (not to produce anything, only to explore. It will cost much more to actually get approval to produce). Tell me again why the price of gasoline is so high, and how government regulations don't contribute to the high energy prices.
And now the President's people get to pick and choose who drills where... and they choose a forgein oil company and not a domestic one. It makes one wonder...
