Don't get the idea...
Don't get the idea that this represents a "real" animal's reactions. For one thing, the "modeling" skills used are of the same order that climate models are composed of: that is, lists of formulas representing chemical relationships. These relationships are those of well-understood reactions, and as long as the "organism" is ONLY exposed to understood reactions, well it should work as planned.
But how does it do when novel chemicals are introduced? What happens when it is exposed to dioxin, for example?
