Just curious.
Why should the age of humans start only 200 years ago?
By the 19th century the oak forests of England were all but gone because of building the English navy for hundreds of years. Their empire in India provided the majority of future ship lumber until the age of steel ships.
Going back a few more centuries there is a strong argument being made that the Romans were responsible for much of the deforestation of the Mediterranean.
Mans impact on the planet goes back more than 200 years.

Forest Trees.
I agree that Romans deforested great areas. Those areas must still recover. But with a human population now numbering in the billions, we can expect more and not less deforestation. Look at the Brazilian rainforest for confirmation.
I vote for less and not more deforestations. We might then stand a chance to live with whatever other animal species that managed to survived the total onslaught of mankind. There are many lists of animals that have been killed of. Will mankind join the dinosaurs and leave only fossils behind?
Einstein said that he knows what world war three will be fought with. But not how world war four would be done.
