It works with water but how about something thicker? And the whole purpose of stirring is to move the liquid from the bottom to the top of the pot, not just spin it around.

Agreed on the simple part.
I would boil water for pasta in this so I would not have to stir it, but anything thinker than water I see a burnt mess.

What about cleaning?
It probably isn't as easy to clean as a smooth-sided pot either.
