I am all for power the world with renewable energy for a cleaner environment. The key is that the renewable technology must be cost effective.
You cannot have your $200 a barrel oil without driving most of the worlds population into abject poverty.
Driving up the cost of current power sources to level the playing field because renewable are too expensive is moronic dogma driven economics.
The current global policies of using food for fuel and renewable power at any costs are part of what drove the world economy to the brink in 2008 and a large part of what is dampening the global recovery in 2012.
The cost of living in most areas is largely driven by the cost of food. Globally food prices have skyrocketed as people here trumpet the use of food for bio-fuels.
In cold climates the cost of keeping warm is killing people who cannot afford it, yet renewable dogma says to damn the fatalities, full speed ahead to $200 a barrel when there is no cost effective alternative.
To deny what all of you dreamers are doing to the rest of us is a fool errand.
