...this is truly excessive, even by spoiled Western standards. It just seems unwisely arrogant. Granted, super-wealthy people might need fortress-like dwellings to protect themselves from kidnappers, but $1,000,000,000? Really?? He could have built 10,000 public buildings (schools, libraries, gyms, parks, etc.). (You can do that most places in India for $100K.) Then he would have had all 1,000,000,000 people of India seeking his safety and welfare, and that of his family and businesses. No fortress could compare to that.
