Spreading insight on African internet

Thank you for your article. As a founder of a company that's seeking to empower citizens around the globe to tell their own stories using digital journalism tools I am keenly interested in how to scale a global digital newsroom in African nations. It ain't gonna be easy, especially since we want to focus mostly on areas under served by media which is mostly rural areas where running water and indoor plumbing haven't been conquered yet. Still I've seen some amazing leaps in technology built out of necessity especially in my partnerships with NGO's who are working in these areas. Just curious if all the studies you mentioned about Africans connections to the Internet includes mobile technology. After visiting several countries there and trying to work virtually as a journalist I found that the laptop might be a nonstarter in Africa. Yet mobile use flourishes.
