Though the first official solo flight of Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo is still unknown, the spacecraft is still moving along towards that goal. The SpaceShipTwo made its very first manned flight this weekend at the Mojave Air and Space Port.

Attached to its mothership, cheekily known as Eve, the SpaceShipTwo completed its first glide flight with a crew on board. This is the third glide in total for the craft, and the 33rd for Eve. Virgin says the test, which included a total of six hours and 12 minutes in the air, showed that all is well in the ship.

In a video, here's a look:

The SpaceShipTwo, which will eventually be known as the VSS Enterprise, made its first captive flight back in March. You can check that video out here.

Virgin, reports Wired, has yet to announce the date of the first solo flight of the SpaceShipTwo (meaning, without the benefit of a mothership). But this is a good sign that the project is progressing properly.
