The 66 million year-old Tyrannosaurus skeleton nicknamed “Samson” would certainly be eye catching and it could be yours if you can make it to the dinosaur auction Oct. 3 in Las Vegas. A similar skeleton dubbed “Sue” went for a mere $8.3 million in 1997.

If you can’t afford “Samson,” your front hall is probably not big enough anyway. But there will be some skeletons that go at more modest prices. If it’s a complete mammalian skeleton that you must have, a “warthog” like pig fossil is projected to reap between $40,000 and $50,000.
For bargain basement shoppers, a fish mural fossil is forecast to sell for about $3,000. And there are other reasonably-priced offerings among the 50 fossils that will be auctioned. Check out the online catalog.
The auction will be at The Venetian and will be conducted by London auction house Bonhams founded in 1793. That that seems like so yesterday.
