Galileo robotic iPhone platform lets you rotate camera remotely

By | April 3, 2012, 9:36 AM PDT

Galileo is a rotational iPhone dock that can be controlled remotely from another device, allowing you to pan and tilt the opposite camera during a video chat. As Doug Aamoth at TIME points out, if you’re “trying to video chat with a small child who has the attention span of a gnat…Galileo lets you keep the kid in frame as he darts around the room.”

Designed by JoeBen Bevirt of Motr, this Kickstarter Project improves on the Apple FaceTime application by allowing the receiver to adjust his view. But although Galileo’s interface allows for integration by third-party apps, FaceTime is not yet supported. The 360 degree rotational tripod works with iPhone 4, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPod Touch 4th Generation and can be controlled by any of those devices as well as from a web browser or iPad.
