1.) Obama explains 'flexibility' on missile defense. President Obama has attempted to clarify his suggestion that he'll have "more flexibility" after the election in November to take on the controversial proposal to build a missile-defense system in Europe.

2.) Pentagon to seek more funds for Israel's missile defenses. According to the U.S. Defense Department's spokesman, the Pentagon plans to request additional funds from Congress to buy missile-defense systems for Israel. The funds are on top of $205 million requested last year to buy additional defense systems for Israeli cities.

3.) Report of bombing plot sends the Afghan Defense Ministry into a near lockdown. The Afghan Defense Ministry went into a near-total lockdown on Tuesday after the discovery of 10 suicide vests and the arrests of more than a dozen Afghan soldiers suspected of plotting to attack the ministry. The would-be fighters also planned to blow up commuter buses for government employees.

4.) LulzSec Reborn claims military dating site hack. Picking up where LulzSec left off, a new group of hacktivists calling itself LulzSec Reborn recently announced that it had hacked a military dating website and released usernames and passwords for 170,937 subscribers.

5.) Veteran: Military spouses sometimes kept in dark about combat injuries, stress. Are families members protected from the true extent of injuries, mental and physical, attained in combat?

Bonus: At least 1,788 U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan since 2001.
