1.) UK smart grid could create jobs, help economy - report. Britain could pump 13 billion pounds ($21 billion) into its economy and create up to 10,000 jobs by upgrading its power distribution network with smart grid technology, an Ernst & Young report said on Tuesday.

2.) Survey: Energy security professionals split on federal oversight for smart grids. When asked, 'Should regulatory oversight for smart grid distribution be transitioned to the Federal government,' 40% said "yes" and 60% said "no".

3.) For many, ComEd's smart grid needs an explanation. Survey shows customers know little about the program or how to use the smart devices to save money.

4.) Smart metering -- the good, the bad, the ugly. Everything from the latest opt outs, roll outs and left outs – to sabotage and another conspiracy theory.

5.) OpenADR 2.0a smart grid standard verified. The OpenADR Alliance, a nonprofit corporation created to foster the development, adoption and compliance of a Smart Grid standard known as Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR), has announced the successful testing of the first servers and clients based on the OpenADR 2.0a profile standard.
