2.) Eastern Kentucky company hopes ‘energy beets’ will fuel ethanol project. A biofuel company in eastern Kentucky is hoping to build an ethanol plant that would use energy beets as fuel instead of corn.
3.) Why advanced biofuel producers are becoming commodity chemical producers. Many investors in advanced biofuel producers such as Amyris (AMRS), Avantium, Gevo (GEVO), Solazyme (SZYM), and Virent have been undoubtedly surprised to learn over the last year that their biofuel investments have morphed into commodity and specialty chemicals investments.
4.) AA comparison test clips Gull biofuel claims. Motoring lobbyist the AA has cast doubt on claims by independent fuel retailer Gull that it undercuts rivals on price.
5.) Biofuel fuel dispenser unveiled for the Olympics. GE Energy Business’ Wayne division announced that its new Wayne Helix fuel dispenser will be the official fuel dispenser of BP’s Showcase in London during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
