Peer into Japan’s raunchy robot restaurant

By | August 1, 2012, 8:30 AM PDT

Yes, you read that correctly.

Located near the heart of Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo, the ‘Robot Restaurant‘ offers cabaret dances and entertainment provided by both fem-bots and real women.

The 10 billion yen ($130 million dollars) restaurant has just opened its doors, and for curious punters, a flat fee of 3000 yen ($38) covers the one-hour cabaret show, a seat, food, a drink and service charges.

Staff steer the robots to perform and dance for visitors, but the giant robots can also be operated by customers. The theme is based on the character Valkyrie in the game Soul Calibur, and so far, has proved a hit in Tokyo for fans of adult entertainment.

Women dressed in military gear and other costumes also act as hosts and dancers — with the performance being staged twice a night, six nights per week. It also includes Japanese taiko drums, a marching band, tanks and a plethora of neon lights. If you’re lucky, you may also see girls riding on motorbikes.

It’s unlikely you’re going to remember your food once the show begins — which comprises of simple snacks including sushi.

Naturally, you’ll want to leave your children at home.
