National Semi's SolarMagic inks series of partnerships

National Semiconductor's solar unit, SolarMagic, has inked a series of deals to expand distribution for its power optimization technology.

The news, announced at the Intersolar Europe conference, expands SolarMagic's footprint in solar junction boxes and smart panels.

Among the deals:

• National Semi and QC Solar, which makes photovoltaic connecting systems, will integrate SolarMagic's technology in QC Solar's SmartTrack product line. The two companies already have a strategic partnership.
• Green Energy Solar will embed SolarMagic's optimization technology into its modules.
• Shoals Technologies Group plans to launch a series of junction boxes that use SolarMagic technology inside.

As noted before, National Semi has launched the first in-panel SolarMagic chipset. On the corporate level, the chipmaker is looking to broaden is solar footprint---a common formula these days.
