Chrysler and NASA on Tuesday said they have signed a three-year alliance to share information on technologies of mutual interest.
These information sharing deals are becoming common with NASA. The general idea is that the shared knowledge will benefit both parties.
In Chrysler’s case, the company is hoping to use NASA knowledge to improve its cars. Topics of interest include materials engineering, robotics, radar, battery systems and energy storage. Chrysler said that NASA’s research on reliable surface navigation sensors has already been a help.
