Southern California got its seventh hydrogen fuel cell refueling station. That's seven fueling stations for about two dozen cars.
As noted previously, the fuel cell market is small and news of the first refueling station supplied by an existing hydrogen pipeline.
The Shell hydrogen station is located in Torrance, Calif., next to freeway corridors and near the Los Angeles International Airport. The station was built on Toyota land, according to the LA Times.
Given the early stage of hydrogen fuel cell cars, it's no surprise that Honda announced the refueling station opening. Honda's FCX Clarity is available at retail in Southern California and "more than two dozen currently on the road and in the hands of individual customers."
Honda said in a statement that the additional station gives FCX Clarity owners a "convenient and anxiety-free driving experience."
