In 2009 researchers suggested labeling fruit with laser-etched tattoos. This February scientists announced the development of spoilage-detecting silk stickers. And now, designers are getting ready to debut dissolvable fruit stickers that turn into soap.
The all-soap Fruitwash Labels can be printed with produce names and barcodes, then rinsed off with water. They dissolve into a with the addition of water they help clean the fruit.
Their parent company Amron Experimental is currently seeking investors to help bring the new stickers to market.
