Smart people attending smart conferences

Written by Vince Thompson, Contributing Editor

I love a good boondoggle as much as the next guy but I have to admit Virtual Trade Shows make damn good sense. Especially when the content is paramount to the schmooze. Instead of the clearing the gates at LAX and O’Hare and taking the cab to McCormick Place you simply log on at your desk and make your way to content sessions and expo booths virtually…. watching video, picking up resources and chatting all the way. As you can imagine, the current economy is fueling growth for Virtual Trade Show companies such as InXpo, Unisfair and On24 who are hosting larger shows and attracting business from big brands such as Sony.

If you’ve yet to attend a virtual trade show and would like to get a sense of the environment or learn more about the business in general, check out my Dog and Pony interview with Malcolm Lotzof, CEO of InXpo. If you like it I’ll send you a virtual drink!
