Logitech introduces genius waterproof keyboard

By | September 12, 2012, 3:00 AM PDT

Computers are designed to be used in an area free of debris and clear of liquids, in an ideal world. However computer users these days do not always have that luxury. Whether it is crumbs from a snack, your morning coffee (or if you’re me, a glass of red wine), computers are not able to avoid the hazards of everyday life. That is why the Logitech Washable Keyboard is suited for modern times.

The keyboard comes ready to use, without any software needed with a standard layout including number pad and F-keys. It is made using laser printing and UV coating so that the letter won’t fade after a wash. It can withstand a heavy dusting, or be submerged in up to 11 inches of water and comes with drainage holes in the back for convenient and speedy drying.

The keyboard is setting a new standard for modern electronics, it seems. Not only will future models need to be strong and sturdy, they will need to be ready for the beating that modern consumers give to their products. Next cane we get laptops in waterproof (or red wine proof) versions?

No introduction here.
This what you get when have contributors parroting company's PR release and the reporter does zero background work to see if the PR is accurate - or just an out right prevarication. I bought a roll up, all silicone encased, fully waterproof keyboard years (4) ago and still use it. Just roll it up (3"dx6"w) and stick it my back back and use it instead of Apple's "retarded keyboard for midgets" on my 17" MacBook Pro. My silicone WP keyboard was made by GrandTech - www.GrandTech.com - and they probably weren't the first to introduce water proof keyboards.

Agreed
I would have been very interested in some information about how comfortable/usable the keyboard is. This is just an ad.
