Herman Miller, the office furniture and equipment maker, has created a new film series that showcases “the world through the eyes of our designers,” from Fuseproject’s Yves Behar to Don Chadwick (who designed the famous Aeron chair) to Birsel + Seck’s Ayse Birsel.
The series is called Why Design and it’s intended to demonstrate why Herman Miller values its designers’ point of view. ”Design is the language we use to ask questions and seek answers to the problems our customers face,” the company says. “The design process is a journey into the unknown.”
Certain firms have always been forthright in highlighting the design effort made on their products; Herman Miller is one of them. The venture is a nice look into the kind of thinking that goes into better desks, chairs and appliances.
