1.) Raise tax to protect U.K.’s NHS, say half population. One in two people think taxes should rise to protect NHS services, according to a poll by Ipsos MORI, amid mounting concern that serious cuts to health services will soon have to be made.
2.) The NHS is under strain but not yet in crisis. A mid-term verdict on the government’s health policies reveals ministers have few answers as to what the future holds.
3.) Obamacare is signed but not yet sealed nor delivered. One of the biggest concerns Republicans voiced about the 2012 election was that a victory by President Obama would solidify Obamacare and forever change the disposition of the American people toward government and the shape of our economy.
4.) Dislodging Obamacare. The healthcare law is still unpopular, unsustainable and vulnerable.
5.) Medical security gap to exceed 75b yuan in 2014. The Beijing branch of Swiss Reinsurance Co Ltd said the funding gap of China’s medical insurance is expected to reach 75.87 billion yuan ($12.2 billion) in 2014.
