1.) Using research to boost business growth for enterprise groups. In Spring this year the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) in partnership with the British Bankers Association, BIS and TSB invited proposals for a new research centre focused on business growth.
2.) Gartner: Enterprise IT spending to show “scant growth” in 2013. Gartner is forecasting “scant growth” in enterprise IT budgets during 2013, with worldwide spending expected to increase by just 2.5 per cent next year.
3.) Chinese state-owned enterprises defend further growth. Bosses of Chinese state-owned enterprises have argued for continued expansion, defending themselves against charges that their firms are in urgent need of reform with claims they are vital to national economic security while still struggling with the legacy of the planned economy.
4.) Household enterprises are key to inclusive growth: economists. Economists studying the role of household enterprises in economic growth are advising governments to discontinue ignoring the sector in their development strategies.
5.) A lack of enterprise. One problem scuppering growth is that most French companies have been around for a long time. A second is that their profit margins have become much thinner.
